Itinerary
A sample itinerary follows, however as you have exclusive use of the vessel, we will help you to prepare a unique itinerary if desired. Three, five, and twelve day charters are available by special request to reach unique destinations. Shorter or longer charters are pro-rated, contact us for rates.
Sample 6 day Itinerary:
Day 1, Sunday. Noon orientation (eat lunch on your own prior to boarding ) and get settled. Leave Anacortes sailing north to Samish Bay in the shadow of Mt. Baker. Spend our first night at Sucia Island, a state marine park with great hiking. We pass Lummi Rocks, several NWR islands, Clark Island, Barnes Island and Matia Islands. The route always depends somewhat on the current and how the wind blows –after all we are supposed to be sailing!
Day 2, Monday. Sail down Boundary Pass to Roche Harbor San Juan Island. Go ashore to see the Afterglow Vista Mausoleum or the Lime Quarry both remnants of the McMillin family legacy in Roche Harbor. Spend the night at Garrison Bay site of English camp from the famous Pig War of San Juan Island. If you like oysters we can dinghy over to the Westcott Bay Oyster farm and pick up some fresh ones. Time ashore can be spent visiting the old fort here dating from 1872, the formal gardens or hike to the British military cemetery and Mount Young.
Day 3, Tuesday. This is a whale watching day as we cruise down the west side of San Juan Island past Lime Kiln Point and then back north to Prevost Harbor Stuart Island. Hiking ashore you can take either a short trip to Turn Point State Park or a longer hike past the Stuart Island historic school then on to Turn Point and back.
Day 4, Wednesday. Sail to Friday Harbor, San Juan Island we spend the night at the dock here with long hot showers ashore. Dinner is on your own ashore. Visit the Whale Museum or some of the many art galleries, check out the links page for Friday Harbor for more information on what else to do here.
Day 5, Thursday. Sail through the San Juans to its eastern end, spending your last night with us at Spencer Spit or Eagle Harbor.
Day 6, Friday. Depart for Anacortes for an 11:00 a.m. arrival, leaving time for transportation back home or exploring Anacortes on your own.
